So, I've been looking for something new to bake and I came across King's Cake in my findings. Ever heard of it? I sure haven't! Apparently, King's Cake gets it's name from the biblical Three Kings or Three Wise Men. It is a seasonal cake and is eaten in or around 12 days after Christmas. The cake often has a trinket left inside or bottom of the cake. The point of the trinket is that if the person who finds the trinket in their piece of cake becomes the King or Queen for the night! How fun! Traditionally, it was a bean instead of a trinket which symbolizes fertility. Find out more about its' history here.
I don't think I'll be making this anytime soon. I'll just save this for future reference.
Stay tuned 6 months from now. ;-)
